Tea time in Bath! Loved my English tea with an English garden just outside!
all the words
When I write a blog post, I often sit with a cup of tea and ponder what I would say if you sat with me. That's what this space is for. You and me, hands wrapped around warm cups, catching up, sharing thoughts, dreaming, living creatively, and enjoying all the things in real life.

I’ll be Somebody’s Light
She’s Got a Story: Anna - A car wreck interrupted Anna’s nursing school journey. Still, she can see now that her path (through surgery, opioid addiction, and recovery) led her to her true passion – peer recovery and working with individuals with disabilities.

Always Trying to be a Better Me
She’s Got a Story - Kimberly - Struggles to conceive and cancer rocked Kimberly’s world. It not only changed her life, it challenged her outlook on life. Her changed outlook has helped shape her relationship priorities; it has also helped her see the kind of person she wants to be and is striving to be for others. “If I can inspire someone or help someone by being who I am authentically, that’s kind of what drives me. Always trying to be a better me, to help other people.”

More Than Enough
She’s Got a Story- Abigail - So, I never felt enough as what you think you are supposed to be as a woman. And I don’t think it’s talked about enough.

The Unofficial Cat Lady
She’s Got a Story: Annette - When I asked Annette about what change she would like to see in the world, she said, “Kindness needs to come back.” And I loved that answer, partially because she’s right but also because…

A Leap of Faith Life
She’s Got a Story: Amanda - Mom of ten kids (homeschooling seven of them), caring for a medically fragile foster daughter, and running a small farm, Amanda’s days are crazy. “Oh, I love my crazy. It’s the most beautiful crazy in the whole entire world.”

A Season of Self-Discovery
She’s Got a Story: Dixie - “Now, I feel like I am at this point in my life when I can actually try to reconnect with who I am. It can be difficult. Sometimes I just realize, wait, you can do whatever you want. A lot of self-discovery right now – reconnecting with myself.”

Why Your Story Matters
There also seems to be this deep-seated misconception that our personal stories aren’t important. Unless you have thousands of followers, you can trump other people’s trauma, or if you are doing something “worthy” with your life, struggles, triumphs, and heart, you don’t measure up. That’s a lie. A lie we tell ourselves to stay small, to stay protected, to excuse our fear of vulnerability.

The Beauty of Compassion
She's Got at Story: Michelle - Michelle’s story did not begin with her cancer, and it will not end with her cancer. Michelle’s story is about squeezing the most out of the moments of life and caring for others. With an easy laugh, a drive to keep going, and a huge heart, Michelle navigates her new normal.

I Got You
She's Got a Story: Courtney - I really want to be someone people know they can count on, and if they need something, I am the person they can call. If I have something I can do for somebody, then I'm all over it. That’s kind of my love language. I think that is why catering works so well for me because I like to cook for people, I like to feed people, I like to do for people, and catering just kinda fulfills that.”

The Prayer Lady
She's Got a Story: Helen - ?Crazy thing: a couple of years ago, the Lord started having me ask people to tell me your name and something I can pray for you for. Everyone at the CVS knows I’m the prayer lady.?

Sunflowers & Pom-Poms
She's Got a Story: Julie - Through her business Julie seeks to come alongside women. Helping them to not only identify health and emotional concerns, but also to have accountability and support in their own journeys. Her own wellness journey showed her the power of emotions, the need for toxin-free solutions, and self-care. While she admits self-care does look different for everyone, she points out that women (the superwomen especially) tend to put off caring for themselves.

The Woman that Shows Up
She’s Got a Story: Lakesha - I want people to be able to come and let loose and dance, have fun, or just be like, look, I’m struggling. And know that they have a safe spot with me and in that circle and that community

Smiles & Soft Seasons
She’s Got a Story: Katie - …she traded in her hard hat and steel-toed boots for baby slings and running shoes as she balances mom life with being the Program Director for Girls on the Run Piedmont.

Living Openly Messy
She’s Got a Story: LeighAnn - There’s something disarming about a woman who just lays it all on the table. Any conversation with LeighAnn feels authentic.

A Main Character Life
She’s Got a Story: Lauren - That girl dreamed of a bigger life, far-off places, and fantasy worlds where everyone was accepted for themselves. Her journey from these childhood dreams to a successful business is a testament to her determination and resilience
